ST. PAUL -- Minnesota Public Radio will launch a one-hour weekly program dedicated to exploring the regional arts scene.
The show, hosted by Marianne Combs, will air at 10 p.m. Fridays starting Nov. 21. Building on the foundation created by the weekly half-hour arts round-up "Word of Mouth," the new show will be broadcast live, and will feature expanded arts coverage, call-outs from the studio, listener call-ins and produced pieces. The program's name will be announced in the coming weeks.
"We are excited about expanding our arts coverage," said Don Lee, senior director for Arts and Culture at MPR. "We will continue the 'Word of Mouth' traditions of highly produced features and wide-ranging arts reporting, adding to the mix in-depth discussion that engages artists and listeners in a regional cultural dialogue."
The final broadcast of "Word of Mouth" is scheduled for 6 p.m. Nov. 14.
