CROSBY - Katherine Mary Larson was born on Feb. 7, 1918, in Riverton to John and Mary Radinovich. She passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. She met Omar Larson in Crosby in 1938 and they were married on Sept. 20, 1943, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby.
Katie was the first girl from Manganese to graduate from high school, graduating in the last graduating class from Riverton. She was a lifelong member St. Joseph's Catholic Church, a member of the Foresters, CCW and the Ironton Legion Auxiliary. Katie would help Omar deliver milk by making the delivery to the Riverton School. Together they owned and operated the NE Grocery in Crosby for 28 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Omar; grandson, Matthew Larson; her parents; sisters, Josephine and Delores; brother, Ed; and two infant brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo (Tom) Huntley, Crosby; her son, Charles Larson, Emily; grandchildren, Jessica Huntley, Brainerd, Joe Huntley, Duluth, Shannon (Jeff) Thompson, Crosby, Sean Larson, Deerwood; and one great-grandchild, Isabelle Thompson, Crosby. Also survived by sister, Mary Vukelich, Crosby, Alyce Mae Perpich, of Crosby; and brothers, John Radinovich, of Hines, Ore., Andy Radinovich, John Day, Oregon, and Paul Radinovich, Cuyuna; many nieces and friends.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. on Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends may call on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby with a rosary at 7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Monday.
