Highway 169 detour lifted south of Aitkin

BAXTER - Highway 169 will open to traffic Thursday, two miles south of Aitkin, reports the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Motorists have been detoured since early September to allow crews to replace two Ripple River box culverts.

Landwehr Construction Inc. of St. Cloud was the prime contractor for the $980,700 improvement project. For updated statewide traffic, construction, weather and travel information, visit www.511mn.org.

Elks mid-year conference conducted

FARIBAULT - Minnesota Elks Association 2009 Mid Year Conference was recently in Faribault with state president Herman Wisneski, Brainerd, presiding with a "Just One More" theme.
