George W. DeRosier, age 88, resident of Brainerd, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at the Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls.
George was born on June 28, 1920, in Fort Ripley. He married Lillian (Magnan) on April 8, 1942, at St. Mathias Church. They enjoyed 66 happy years together. He farmed nearly all his life. He worked construction in Stevens Point, Wis. George owned Brainerd Blacktop and Brainerd RediMix. He loved farming, playing cards and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mathias Catholic Church.
Survived by his wife, Lillian; children, Diane (Richard) Brisk, Pierz, Dale (Judy), Fort Ripley, Galen (Chris), Andover, Gary (Sharon), Brainerd, Bonnie (Dave) Roxberg, Brainerd, Michael (Barb), Brainerd, Irene Steltz, Brainerd, James (Sharon), Brainerd, Janet (Scott) Bowers, Brainerd, Patrick (Marla), Brainerd; 27 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; sister, Leona Gangestad, Brainerd.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Phillip and Paul; son, Leon; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at St. Mathias Catholic Church in St. Mathias Township with Father Kris McKusky officiating. Burial will be in St. Mathias Cemetery. Visitation will be the hour before services at the church on Wednesday.
