BACKUS - The city of Lake Shore will not receive any special reduction for being a city if it purchased county tax-forfeited land.
The city asked the county to lower the $5,500 appraised value cost for enabling the city to buy land from the county to improve Pamela Drive.
The board noted no other cities have been given special consideration for a price lower than appraised value when purchasing tax-forfeited property from the county. The county has sold several parcels to the cities of Cass Lake and Pine River in the past.
The board approved offering an easement to permit Enbridge Energy Co. to expand its existing pipeline through northern Cass County. Enbridge will pay $500 per year, plus a one-time stumpage fee of $345.
