A recent Open Forum contributor wrote that everyday kindergarten is a convenience and likened it to free child care. This is an incredibly short-sighted and uninformed viewpoint. The kindergarten program in Brainerd has skills that they strive to achieve just like every other grade level and program in our schools.
Warriors grab eighth seed at state
The Brainerd Warriors girls' soccer team earned the No. 8 seed for Wednesday's opening round of the Class 2-A state tournament Sunday.
CLC routes MN West, earns playoff berth
WORTHINGTON - The Central Lakes College Raiders football team handled the Minnesota West Bluejays 55-28 in MCCC Southern Division play Saturday.
CLC gears up for postseason
The regular season saw the Raiders post a 25-5 overall record and capture their fourth Northern Division title in five years with a perfect 12-0 division mark.
BCS roller coaster ride continues
The roller coaster ride that is the 2007 college football season continued last Thursday when Rutgers upset South Florida, ranked at the time No. 2 in the BCS standings. The Bulls have now dropped to tenth in the BCS and are all but eliminated from a title berth.
