Ken Anderson, Crosslake community development director, will share his challenges and stories at the Tuesday meeting of the Pine River Watershed Alliance. His half-hour presentation begins at 7 p.m. at the Ideal Town Hall, behind the fire station on County Road 16 in Ideal Corners.
Following Anderson's presentation, visitors and guests are welcome to stay for the regular meeting of the PRWA.
Before joining Crosslake, Anderson was community development director for the city of Columbia Heights, city of Belle Plaine and he was a financial consultant for a firm that specialized in the planning and structuring of bonds for public entities.
Election equipment to be tested Oct. 29-30
The automatic tabulating equipment to be used in Crow Wing County for the general election will be tested beginning at 10 a.m. on Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 in the lower level meeting rooms 1 and 2 in the Land Services Building, 322 Laurel St. The testing is open to the public.
Polling locations available online
Crow Wing County Auditor Deborah Erickson is reminding residents that polling locations for the Nov. 4 state general election may be different than school district election polling places. (Brainerd School District elections are conducted in odd years.)
Erickson said if people are unsure of their polling location they can visit the Secretary of State's poll finder Web site at pollfinder.sos.state.mn. Information as to poll location and what is included on particular ballots will be provided based on address of residence.
Crosslake planning and zoning meeting planned Friday
CROSSLAKE - The city of Crosslake Planning and Zoning Commission/Board of Adjustment will meet at 9 a.m. Friday at Crosslake City Hall.
Fall fiesta planned
A fall fiesta will be 12:30-3 p.m. Saturday at the Brainerd Moose Lodge, 219 S. Ninth St., Brainerd. The event is open to the public. The event is for kids up to age 12. There will be pictures with the bear mascot, games, cookie decorating and hot dogs and pop.
Crow Wing County Genealogical Society to meet
The Crow Wing County Genealogical Society will meet from 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Family History Center, 101 Buffalo Hills Lane W., Brainerd. There will be research and discussion with a short presentation by Gary Midge on available resources at the Family History Center. All interested in genealogy are invited.
