It was nearly midnight last night when the Lake Shore council gave conditional approval to final plans and plats for the largest development to be proposed in the city's history. The development is called 'Causeway on Gull."

30 years ago (1973)

Carol Dougherty, director of the Brainerd Lakes Chapter of Sweet Adeline's, left Sunday for Washington D.C. where she will attend the 27th International Convention and competition of Sweet Adeline's, Inc.

40 years ago (1963)

The Brainerd City Council last night approved a budget that calls for a grand total expenditure of $911,036, a cut from a year ago. Last year the budget totaled $982,949.

At Lyonais & Baker there was received a bulletin on ducks prevalent at Blackduck. Such a cloud descended today, in ideal duck weather, that wires and telephone poles were knocked down. Hunters are reported to have gotten bags in double quick time.
