Crow Wing County Public Health will offer a seasonal FluMist (not shots) clinic from 1-5 p.m. Friday at the Crow Wing County Community Service Public Health Office, 204 Laurel St., Suite 12, Brainerd. Walk-ins only; no appointments.

FluMist is for healthy people ages 2 to 49 years of age. People who have chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes or heart conditions cannot receive a FluMist. Also, pregnant women cannot receive a FluMist.

Cost is $25 per vaccination or CWCPH will bill Medicare Part B, Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare. You must bring your card. Some $5 vaccine will be available for children ages 2 years to 18 years who meet the Minnesota Vaccines for Children eligibility guidelines. No one will be turned away for inability to pay, however, if your private insurance covers this vaccine in full, you are asked to go to your provider or pay the $25 fee.

This is for FluMist only. No flu shots will be given at this clinic.

Time announced for House committee visit to Camp Ripley

CAMP RIPLEY - The Minnesota House Capital Investment Committee announced the time of its visit to Camp Ripley this week as part of a tour of infrastructure and capital projects.

The panel will meet at the camp from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Utilities commission to meet Oct. 27

The Brainerd Public Utilities Commission will meet at 9 a.m. on Oct. 27 in the commission meeting room at the BPU Service Center, 8027 Highland Scenic Road.
