Pierz boys, Talberg qualify for section
ALBANY -- Zach Solinger's third-place and Randy Rauch's sixth-place finish in Tuesday's East Subsection 5, Class 1A cross country meet helped the Pierz Pioneers boys' team advance to the section meet Oct. 28 at Becker.
The Pioneers' Jamie Talberg placed third to advance to the section. Pierz's girls' team was sixth.

Ranger boys, girls third
Bemidji -- Crosby-Ironton Rangers boys' and girls' teams finished third at the Bemidji Lumberjack Invitational Tuesday.
C-I's McLean Severson was runner-up in the boys' race and Kim Beaman was seventh in the girls' meet.
