Lakewood Health System sponsors trip to Diabetes Expo

STAPLES -- The Diabetes Resource Center of Lakewood Health System in Staples organized a trip Saturday to Minneapolis to attend the Diabetes Expo, sponsored by the American Diabetes Association.

The group experienced displays, demonstrations, speakers and motivation to better manage diabetes. Celebrity speakers included Della Reese, star of "Touched by an Angel," and Will Cross, the first person with diabetes to reach the South Pole.

The coach bus was funded by the Lakewood Health System Foundation. The Staples Lions provided snacks.
