PILLAGER -- Four Pillager High School students will participate in the Pillager Area Lakes Scholarship Pageant at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Pillager School old gym/cafeteria area.
Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students and free for preschoolers and senior citizens. Those with buttons will get in free.
Participants include Christina Nichols, Khelsey Jones, Judy Sawyer and Tiffany Dixon.
The scholarship program is based on community service. Participants must be in grades 10 through 12 and attend school in the Pillager district (traditional, charter or home school). They must seek and complete a community service project and write two papers -- one discussing their project and one discussing their post-high school educational goals. A formal interview will be conducted with judges.
Little Miss Pillager also will be crowned. Candidates are Kelsie Hanson, Katrina Jenkins, Shelby Horner, Tristin Long and Carrin Long. Torrie Thompson, last year's Little Miss Pillager, and Tara Buckingham, 2003-04 Miss Pillager Area Lakes, will help crown this year's winners.
Dan Hegstad of Lakeland Television, Channel 22, will emcee the pageant.
