Feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary

On the feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, one of the 11th grade confirmation classes at St. Francis Catholic Church hosted a candle light rosary on Oct. 7. This rosary was prayed in accordance with the Holy Father and Bishops from around the world who participated in the recitation of the Most Holy Rosary during a torchlight procession in Rome on that same day. The student's advertised and planned the service and conducted the recitation to about 150 participants. The class was asked to repeat the service again next October on the feast of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. Students who participated were Briana Lester, Josh Martin, Jennifer Husen, Drew Friebohle, Johnathon Jourdan, Chris Pfanz, Drew Lester, Kris Sheehan, Kirsten Walker, Wes Schiller, Sam Kampa, Adam Cherne, Phil Olsen and Jeremy Pryzbilla.

Hidden Mountain Center to lead retreat

Hidden Mountain Center of Brainerd has been retained by the Nativity Episcopal Church of Burnsville to develop and lead a retreat today and Saturday at the Episcopal House of Prayer in Collegeville. The theme for the weekend retreat is Christianity through Eastern Windows. James Michael Grossman, co-director of Hidden Mountain Center, will develop and lead the retreat.

Stanley Jones Singers

The Stanley Jones Singers will be in concert at 2 p.m. Sunday at Thomastown Covenant Church, north of Staples. Evangelist Stanley Jones will also be leading revival meetings at 11 a.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday-Wednesday at the Thomastown Church. The community is welcome to these services. Park Prayers

Park Prayers will hold their meeting for intercessory prayer and meditation at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Park United Methodist Church.

Annual fall bazaar

Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church will have their annual fall bazaar from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. There will be a lunch served, handmade crafts, home-baked pies, cakes, cookies and homemade candy, and canned goods. There will also be a lefse demonstration. Shepherd of the Lake Lutheran Church is applying for up to $500 in congregational matching funds through AAL Branch 1021.

Swedish meatball supper

Park United Methodist Church will have their annual Swedish meatball supper from 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 30. The supper features a menu of all you can eat Swedish meatballs and all the trimmings including real mashed potatoes. Tickets are available at the door for $6 for adults and $4 for children 5-11 years old. The supper is an all church event. The building has an elevator. To go dinners are available. The United Methodist Women will be holding their annual bazaar and bake sale as well. The youth will also be sponsoring a children's carnival during the supper hours.
