Judge orders Hecker taken into custody

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A judge has ordered Denny Hecker jailed, saying the fallen Twin Cities auto mogul needs a "wake-up call."

U.S. District Judge Michael Davis was questioning Hecker on Monday about money Hecker had spent since pleading guilty in September.

Davis says he wasn't satisfied with Hecker's answers and ordered him jailed. The judge gave Hecker until Wednesday to produce accurate records.

Earlier, a court document identified longtime friend Ralph Thomas as the person who offered to pay Hecker's future legal bills.

Hecker has pleaded guilty to two counts of fraud and conspiracy in connection with duping Chrysler Financial out of more than $13 million in loans. He is awaiting sentencing.
