DURHAM, N.H. (AP) -- A goal by Lanny Gare at 6:14 in the third period gave New Hampshire a 5-5 game with Minnesota on Friday.
New Hampshire got on the board first with a score by Sean Collins 1:31 into the first period. Minnesota evened up the score with a goal from Troy Riddle at 4:25.
Collin Hemingway brought New Hampshire to 2-1 at 14:50 of the first period, then rebounded a puck from Josh Prudden and Gare again with just over five minutes to play in the opening period.
Minnesota's Paul Martin answered Hemingway's second goal to cut the lead by one, 3-2.
Minnesota would score once more with Kevin Truelson. New Hampshire answered seconds later when Minnesota's Tim Horst potted his first season giving the Wildcats the lead again and ended the flurry of goals in the first period.
Dan Welch scored at 9:55 of the second period on the power play. Troy Riddle scored his second goal to give Minnesota the lead, 5-4, with just over two minutes to play in that period.
