Edith V. De Rocher

Edith Valeria De Rocher, 99, Brainerd, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2002, at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd.

She was born June 21, 1903, in Brainerd to Mose and Florence (Weishalla) De Rocher. She attended St. Francis Catholic Church and graduated from Washington High School. She received a teaching certificate from St. Cloud Teachers College and a registered nurse certificate from the Kahler School of Nursing in Rochester. She was a nursing assistant supervisor at Worrell Hospital in Rochester. In 1932, she returned to Brainerd. She and her mother owned and managed the Cottage Grill cafe on South Sixth Street for 36 years. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Isaac Walton League.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

A sister and two brothers died earlier.

Memorial mass will be held at a later date.
