FLENSBURG -- David Sobiech, 85, Flensburg, died Thursday, Oct. 17, 2002, at the Lutheran Care Center.
He was born Sept. 2, 1917, in Sobieski to John and Rose (Wisnieski) Sobiech. He married Florence Bieniek on June 19, 1939, in Sobieski. They farmed in the Flensburg area for more than 50 years. After retirement they moved to Little Falls. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus No. 1804, Flensburg Fire Department, Flensburg City Council and Sacred Heart Parish for 63 years.
Survivors include his wife, Little Falls; three sons, Richard Sobiech, Bloomington, Robert Sobiech, Little Falls, and Allan Sobiech, Fort Ripley; three daughters, Darlyne Palashewski and Leone Chirhart, both of Little Falls, and Corrine Johnson, Burnsville; a brother, Raymond Sobiech, Sobieski; three sisters, Esther Zyvoloski, Sobieski, Margaret Scheid, New Ulm, and Marion Batcha, Columbia Heights; 14 grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren.
A brother, Leo, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Flensburg with Father Raymond Donnay officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. today, with parish prayers at 5:30 p.m. and Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 6:30 p.m., at the Brenny Funeral Home (West Chapel) in Little Falls, and from 9 a.m. until services Monday at the church.
