Olga M. Bailey

AITKIN -- Olga M. Bailey, age 95, of Aitkin, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004, at the Riverwood Extended Care Center.

Olga was born March 27, 1909, in Aitkin, Minn., the Daughter of Carl and Anna (Holm) Christianson. She grew up and attended school in the Waukenabo area. She married Clarence J. Bailey on Nov. 18, 1930, in Aitkin. They lived in the Waukenabo area where they farmed. Olga also worked as a nurse's aid at the Aicota Health Care Center and the Riverwood Extended Care Center. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading and puzzles. She was a member of the farmers union and St. John's Lutheran Church in Aitkin.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Christine Bailey, of Aitkin, and Noel and Alma Bailey, of Aitkin; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence in 1970; one daughter, Edith Casselius; and daughter-in-law Patricia Bailey.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, from St. Johns Lutheran Church in Aitkin with the Rev. David Becker officiating. Edie Orazem will play the organ and Noel Bailey will sing, "In the Garden" and "How Great Thou Art". Burial will be in the Waukenabo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Loren Bailey, Lance Bailey, Darik Booth, Nick Booth, Jeremy Lund and Craig Lund. Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Monday at the Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Arrangements are with Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home in Aitkin.
