The Brainerd Warriors will get the third seed in the Section 8-5A playoffs and host No. 6 Elk River in the opening round at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Brainerd finished the regular season 6-2 with 15 section points after defeating Sartell 41-7 on Wednesday. The Warriors' only losses were to St. Cloud Tech in the opener and to Fergus Falls in Week 7.
"They were both tough games, disappointing losses, but they were something to build on," Warriors quarterback Scott Ramey said. "(Fergus Falls) was a little reality check maybe. I don't know if we went in flat, but I think the guys got it together tonight, came out hitting, and really wanted to take apart this team.
"I think that at 6-2 people may overlook us, but we're willing to take on everybody."
Elk River has six points and a 2-6 overall record. The Elks ended with a 42-7 loss to Blaine.
Brainerd defensive back Desmond Janousek (17) and another Warrior defender broke up a pass Wednesday night.
