Landecker, Pequot boys win invite

PARK RAPIDS - Naomi Landecker continued her season-long torrid pace as she ran away from the pack to win the Park Rapids Invitational with a time of 14:37, helping lead the Staples-Motley Cardinals to a second-place finish Monday.

The Pequot Lakes boys' team captured a first-place finish thanks to the efforts of Clayton Foster, who finished fourth, Kellen Braren, who finished fifth and Silas Lydeen, who finished ninth.

Emma Progreba placed fourth and Natasha Wenzel placed 10th in aiding Landecker and the Cardinals to their second-place finish.

The Staples-Motley boys' team placed third as Jordan Bendson finished sixth, Josiah Fuhrman eighth, and Josh Ulring 10th.

The Wadena-Deer Creek boys' team was led by Tim Papillon's 28th place finish as the Wolverines placed eighth as a team.

Travis Wheeler was the high finisher for the Pine River-Backus Tigers as he placed 31st.

Kylie Beltz placed ninth for the Pequot Lakes girls' team as it finished sixth. Kelsey Browne was the high finisher for the W-DC girls' team at 17th. The PR-B girls were led by Kyra Taylor's 45th place finish.
