Aitkin doubles, Beneke advance

VIRGINIA - Aitkin's doubles team of Ali Carlson-Kaitlyn Davies continued their successful season by winning the North Subsection 7-1A doubles title Wednesday.

The duo improved to 24-3 and will advance to the Section 7-1A individual tournament Tuesday in Hibbing.

Also moving on to the section tournament is Aitkin's Nicole Beneke, who placed fourth. Beneke won her first-round match, before dropping her final two. She heads into sections with a 15-12 overall record.
