The Central Lakes College volleyball team will host its Cheer for the Cure tournament Thursday.
At 11 a.m., CLC will play Rochester. At 1 p.m., Hibbing will face Rochester. At 3 p.m., Hibbing will play Ridgewater. At 5 p.m., CLC will meet Ridgewater.
CLC is ranked ninth in the NJCAA Division III poll, Hibbing is ranked seventh, Rochester fifth and Ridgewater third.
The event has earmarked proceeds for cancer research. This is the community service theme chosen by the CLC Raiders volleyball team this season.
Team members are selling pink CLC volleyball T-shirts for $10. Half of each sale goes to cancer research. A portion of gate receipts will be donated to the American Cancer Society and pink ribbon cookies will be on sale.
Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for students. CLC students will be admitted free.
All four teams will wear something pink.
CLC ties for first
The Raiders finished in a tie for first place in the Northern Division with Hibbing. A playoff game to determine which school hosts the Region 13B tournament will be played at 1 p.m. Saturday at Hibbing (site determined by coin flip).
