Marlene Fischer (Riesch), age 59, died Oct. 6, 2009, just after midnight surrounded by her family. Passed peacefully after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer, with courage, dignity and a smile on her face - never giving up hope.

Preceded in death by parents, Warren and Nellie; former husband, Michael Chvestuik. Survived by son, Michael; grandson, Cullen; former husband, Mark Fischer; sister, Wynnell (Tony) Larson; brother, Barry; and many friends. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at Unity Church Unitarian (732 Holly Ave., St. Paul, enter at the Portland and Grotto entrance) at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31.
