The Alumni Association at Central Lakes College inaugurated its Tailgating Party with grilled brats and burgers Saturday, where CLC graduates, their families and retirees dined before home games in volleyball and football. Despite rainy conditions the first-ever celebration of its kind was a success, said Ann Silgen, association director.
Central Lakes College hosted the annual Education Fair last week in the Brainerd campus gymnasium. One hundred colleges and universities had representatives dispensing materials and information on higher education opportunities across the Midwest. High school juniors and seniors from Aitkin, Brainerd, Crosby-Ironton, Onamia, Pequot Lakes, Pierz and Pine River-Backus packed the gym along with CLC students interested in transferring to four-year institutions. The CLC Admissions staff, including Rebecca Souhrada and Joan Jenkins, provided course information and enrollment applications.
