Sartell receives scare from Flyers

SARTELL - Julia Ploof gave seventh-seeded Little Falls a 1-0 lead going into halftime but the Flyers could not hang on, losing a 2-1 heart-breaker against second-seeded Sartell to end Little Falls' season in the opening round of the South Subsection 8-1A tournament Tuesday.

The Sabres knotted the game early in the second period before a Little Falls own goal on a penalty kick gave Sartell a 2-1 lead it would not relinquish.

Mikayla Jorgenson assisted on Ploof's goal while Flyers keeper Melissa VanItter made 16 saves.
