Girls' tennis report

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The top-seeded Brainerd Warriors eliminated the No. 5 Moorhead Spuds 7-0 the North Subsection 8-2A tournament Tuesday at the Grand Forks Tennis Center.

The victory advanced Brainerd to the Section 8-2A semifinals Monday against South runner-up Monticello.

"We're playing to our ability," said Warriors head coach Ellen Fussy. "Some of our girls are playing their best tennis right now and hopefully we can get the other girls going."

In Wednesday's individual tournament, Brainerd's Mikinzee Salo and Kayla Kraemer will play singles while Zoe Houle-Taylor Headlee and Samantha Kletscher-Courtney Tusler will compete in doubles.

Moorhead 6, Little Falls 1

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - Jule Wenzkus won at No. 1 singles as the fifth-seeded Little Falls Flyers fell to No. 4 Moorhead 6-1 in the opening round of the North Subsection 8-2A team tournament Tuesday at the Grand Forks Tennis Center.

Wenzkus defeated Emma Connell 6-2, 6-0 for the Flyers' only point in the dual meet.
