AITKIN -- Pamela Baker, age 42, of Aitkin, Minn., formerly of Gaylord, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003, at her residence in Aitkin.

Services are 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord with interment in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Gaylord.

Visitation is 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Egesdal Funeral Home in Gaylord and one hour at the church before services. Clergy officiating will be the Rev. Fredric Hinz.

She is survived by her husband, Brant Baker of Aitkin; children, Cassandra (Rick) Holtz of Brainerd, Samantha Wibsted of Brainerd; two grandchildren, Brett and Alexia Holtz at home in Brainerd; parents Donald and Sandra Schulte of Gaylord; sisters Connie (John) Kuphal of Glencoe, Tanya (Patrick) Liebl of Big Lake; grandmother Opal Squier of Gaylord; father and mother-in-law, Calvin and Mabel Baker of Aitkin; stepdaughters Rachael Baker of Aitkin, Stephanie Baker of Red Wing and Jessica (John) Faust of Pierz; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Walter and Myrtle Schulte, grandfather George Squier, and sister Julie Schulte in 1977.

Pamela Kay Baker was born Feb. 4, 1961, in Gaylord to Donald and Sandra (Squier) Schulte.

She graduated from Gaylord High School in 1979.

She married Leland Wibstad in 1982 and later divorced.

She married Brant Baker on March 17, 2000, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Aitkin.

She served with the U.S. Army in Arizona until her honorable discharge in 1980.

She was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Gaylord, Mankato and Brainerd until 1998 when she retired due to ill health.

She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Aitkin. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Luthean Church in Gaylord.

She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, loved waterskiing, fishing and various board games.

Casket bearers: Timothy Kuphal, Daniel Kuphal, Samuel Kuphal, Randy Squier, Jeffrey Schubert and Jeffery Brundell.
