Special planning commission meeting Wednesday

A special meeting of the Brainerd Planning Commission and Northwest Associated Consultant will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Brainerd City Hall.

Flu clinic planned for Tuesday

The Crow Wing County Health Department will host a public influenza clinic from 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Lakes Area Senior Activity Center in Brainerd. This clinic is open to anyone age 6 months and older.

Cost is $20 per shot or the health department will bill Medicare Part B, Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare. You must bring your card. They also have some $5 vaccines available through the Minnesota Vaccines for Children Program for children ages 6 months through 18 years who meet eligibility guidelines.

Doty and HHS Committee to be at health hearing

LITTLE FALLS - Rep. Al Doty will join members of the House Health and Human Services Committee who will conduct a public hearing at 5 p.m. Oct. 19 in Little Falls after touring health facilities.

The committee will tour St. Gabriel's Hospital in Little Falls and Horizon Health Care Center in Pierz. After the tours the panel will conduct a public hearing at the Initiative Foundation in Little Falls.

Rural health care experts have been invited to discuss rural health care needs.
