ST. PAUL (AP) -- A former St. Paul nursing home employee was charged in the death of a patient who was injured when he fell while she was moving him.
Rebecca Onayiga, 25, was charged Wednesday with criminal negligence in the June 2000 incident.
Onayiga admitted to investigators that she failed to follow nursing home policy when she moved the unidentified patient without using a transfer belt, according to a criminal complaint.
Onayiga was helping the patient to stand so she could check him and adjust his wheelchair cushion, the complaint stated.
