Brainerd is scrapping its metal for victory today. From almost every household, industry and business scrap metal was pouring into the salvage coffers in the biggest city-wide scrap metal drive ever staged in this area.

Lumber was being sent to the foundry buildings of the Parker & Topping Company to board it up. The foundry workers who went out on strike in June will have no opportunity to come back as there will be no local foundry operating.
