Lakes Area Dance Club to host Masquerade Ball

The Lakes Area Dance Club, a chapter of USA Dance, Inc., will hold a Masquerade Ball from 8-11 p.m. Oct. 19 at the St. Francis of the Lakes School Gymnasium at 817 Juniper St. in Brainerd.

A dance lesson will be offered at 7:30 p.m. Live music will be performed by David Riley.

Admission is $10 for Dance USA members and students with ID, $5 for students who are also Dance USA members and $15 for non-members.

Warrior Dance Team performs in Chaska

CHASKA - The Brainerd Warrior Dance Team was among 30 high school dance teams to perform Sept. 22 at the Abby Ostlie Fundraising Show at the Chaska High School football field.

The University of Minnesota Dance Team and Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders also participated in the show, which raised $17,000 to benefit Ostlie, 3, who awaits a heart transplant.

The event was sponsored by Just For Kix of Brainerd and coaches from Chaska and Maple Grove high schools.
