CROSSLAKE -- The Crosslake Planning and Zoning Commission/Board of Adjustment will meet at 9 a.m. Oct. 28 at Crosslake City Hall.

Domestic violence awareness month events announced

Marie Claire and Liz Claiborne Inc. have designated Tuesday as "It's Time to Talk Day" in hope of raising awareness of and getting people talking about domestic violence. To mark the day, the Women's Center of Mid-Minnesota will have a table with domestic violence materials at "An Evening with Patty Wetterling."

The Brainerd Area Zonta Club will present this event at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Forestview Middle School in Baxter. Wetterling's speech is entitled, "Building a World that is Worthy of its Children." Tickets are $20 and proceeds will benefit the Women's Center.

The Women's Center also will mark domestic violence awareness month with an exhibit of the Silent Witness silhouettes from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Oct. 17-18 at Central Lakes College.
