Principal embarks on trek for schools

ST. PAUL (AP) -- With a new pair of shoes and a big mission, Royalton Elementary School Principal Phil Gurbada set out Thursday on a 110-mile walk to draw attention to school finance woes.

If all goes well, his final steps will get him to the state Capitol on Monday afternoon, where he intends to call on lawmakers and Gov. Jesse Ventura to make a greater investment in public education.
