EDINA -- Robert Thomas Maley, 82, Edina, formerly of Arlington Heights, Ill., died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.
He was born Sept. 6, 1919, in Chicago to Robert William and Lucille (Kiebel) Maley. He married Elaine Milke on Jan. 19, 1945, in Chicago. He served in the Army during World War II from March 17, 1941, to May 19, 1945, and received the Bronze Star. After his discharge, he worked as regional manager of Harold M. Pitman Graphic Supplies. He was a member of the Richfield VFW Post 5555.
Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Gelbmann, Brainerd, Denise Schmitz, Robbinsdale, and Terrie Maley, Minneapolis; and four grandchildren.
His wife, Elaine, died earlier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Washburn-McReavy Funeral Home in Edina. Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday at Fort Snelling with military honors by the Richfield VFW.
Friends may call at noon Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are preferred to the Healing Garden at Bethany Good Samaritan Village in Brainerd.
