The Golden Lakes Boxing Club season will begin Oct. 21.

GLBC, which has represented Brainerd and surrounding the area since 1995, will practice Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 217 S. 7th St., across from the Gallery in downtown Brainerd.

JV boys' soccer losses

Moorhead defeated Brainerd 3-0 in junior varsity boys' soccer Thursday.

Brainerd keeper Thor Linnerooth had six saves in the first half. Matt Benson had five saves in the second.

Monday, the Warriors beat St. Cloud Apollo 4-1.

In the first half, Lucas Conde scored, assisted by Alex Ryan, and Josh Murrey scored, assisted by Conde.

In the second half, Austin Polcaro scored twice with one goal assisted by Louis Garbowski.

Benson had two saves in the first half.

JV tennis plays Sartell

Brainerd's junior varsity girls' tennis team won 15 doubles matches against Sartell Thursday.

Winning pairs were Kylee Kunde-Jinna Toft, Mara Williams-Nicole Gervenak, Kelsey Ott-Taylor Ott, Megan Mitchell-Krista Bjork, Zoe Wolhart-Alex Williamson, Jacqueline Thurlow-Alexa Wright, Katie Beth Strand-Julie Ashburn, Molly Aga-Hayley Sinner, Rose Hunter-Chloe Glassman, Megan Hintz-Morgan Steffen, Hazel Patel-Heather Johnson, Heather Jaeche-Brittney Bostrom, Kelsey Thompson-Kjirstie Golden, Corrina Schmidt-Hannah Stoll, Gabby Waters-Lauren Rud and Diana Fellman-Maiah Maki.

Freshmen football wins

Brainerd defeated Alexandria 40-14 in freshmen football Thursday.

Levi Rubin, Matt Scharockman, Nate Blum and Tyler Fitch had touchdown runs. Jager Hanson returned a block punt for a score.

Levi Rubin was named Warrior Player of the Game.

The Warriors (5-1) host Fergus Falls Tuesday.

Brainerd's B team will host Grand Rapids Monday.
