Crookston holds on against W-DC

CROOKSTON - Aaron Kern scored on two fourth quarter runs to lead Wadena Deer Creek in a 29-21 Heart O'Lakes Conference loss to Crookston Friday.

With the Pirates nursing a 22-7 lead going into the fourth quarter, Kern scored on a 3-yard run just four seconds into the quarter. After the Pirates scored another touchdown, Kern scored on a 44-yard run to make the final 29-21.

Colter Pettit scored W-DC's first touchdown on a 37-yard fumble recovery in the first quarter.

Kern finished with 109 yards rushing on 21 carries. He also caught a pass for five yards.
