Setting up shop - and moving the office

Posted: Saturday, October 10, 2009

It's Camp Ripley time and I'm getting fired up to sit in some thick cover in hopes of shooting a big buck.

My schedule has been such that I haven't been able to put in much "tree time" yet this season, except for one night with my 7-year-old son, so Ripley will be the start of my 2009 buck pursuit.

The leaves will start falling fast and I am excited to see some serious deer movement. The Camp Ripley archery hunt is not your most tranquil setting for an archer, but there are some giants that roam that awesome piece of creation and it's exciting to think that the next sound might be him on his way.

With the deer season coming into full swing, it's getting more and more difficult to focus on the fish, but I need to do both as we have some trips still in the book. Fishing has been fairly good as of late so that makes it easier to hop back and forth from the woods to the water.

In the midst of the most awesome month for the outdoorsman or outdoorswoman, we are in the process of moving our office. Maybe not the best month for moving with all of the happenings, but things always seem to work out just the way they're supposed to.

Then it will be time to blend in with Mother Nature.
