The Brainerd Warriors sophomore football team defeated the visiting Willmar Cardinals 58-16 Thursday.
The Warriors scored on their first play from scrimmage and never trailed.
James Strand ran for touchdowns of 1, 8 and 7 yards and ran for a 2-point conversion.
Riley Cullinane ran for touchdowns of 25, 20 and 72 yards.
Carl Sneep scored on a 9-yard pass from Mike Baker and kicked two extra points.
Baker scored on a 35-yard run and Darius Young on a 3-yard run for the Warriors, whose defense caused nine turnovers.
Intercepting passes were Matt Siegel, David Beilke (2), Wayne Quigley and Zach Heidmann.
Recovering fumbles were Casey Gaerets, Joe Anhalt, Adam Lueck and Sneep.
The Warriors had 575 total yards. Brainerd (6-1) travels to Little Falls for its final game of the season 5 p.m. Tuesday.
JV swims past Sauk Rapids
The Brainerd Warriors defeated Sauk Rapids 124-56 in junior varsity swimming and diving Thursday.
Individual winners for Brainerd were Kim Freibohle in the 200 free, Dana Raboin in the individual medley, Connie London in the 100 fly, Jackie Sellnow in the 100 free, Jessica Bateman in the 500 free, Katie Viau in the backstroke, Emily Schindler in the breaststroke.
Relay winners included the 200 medley team of Cara Wiltse, Maggie Boland, Connie London and Heather Erickson; the 200 free unit of Jessica Baker, Katie Schindler, Freibohle and Erickson; and the 400 free team of Kelsey Boran, Wiltse, Katie Schindler and Katie Johnson.
Warrior JV netters fall to Sauk Rapids
Warrior junior varsity volleyball player Hannah Fossum had five kills and eight digs while teammate Paige Olson had four kills as Brainerd lost 3-0 to Sauk Rapids Thursday.
