MOORHEAD - The Brainerd Warriors allowed two goals in the first half's final minute to fall behind 3-0 going into halftime and were not able to muster enough of a comeback in the second losing 5-2 to Moorhead Thursday.
Jake Williams and Ethan Nichols scored Brainerd's goals in the second half with Chris Nathan assisting on Williams' goal.
"We have got some injuries and some guys out sick," Warrior coach Cahil Collins said. "The first half we just were flat and giving up two goals in the final minute of the first half was unfortunate. In the second half, we played some good soccer and had a lot of scoring possibilities, but it was too late. We have to work on putting a full game together."
The loss drops Brainerd's record to 9-5-1 as it prepares to host Zimmerman Saturday in its final regular season game.
