Ruling that both the Brainerd Federation of Teachers and the Brainerd Education Association "had destroyed the conditions necessary for an unbiased, secret ballot election," the Bureau of Mediation Services threw out the results of the May 24 election.

Cass County law officers are looking for a rustler who shot and butchered on the spot a 650-pound steer at the James Holsapple farm near Pequot Lakes. It was valued at $160. All that remained were the head and entrails. A $100 reward is offered.

Mrs. Omer Liners just returned from a five-week vacation to California, where she attended a lodge called "Brainerd Picnic." It is made up of California residents who used to live in Brainerd. On the day she attended there were more than 100 in attendance.

All Crosby-Ironton turned out yesterday to gaze with wonder at the huge Ford tri-motor Independence as it circled the towns emitting showers of newspapers. It was the first airmail delivery of the Dispatch as pilot "Crazy" Johns sped there at 97 miles-per-hour.
100 years ago (1909)
Three drunks were up in municipal court yesterday. One from Deerwood and one from Little Falls paid fines of $10 each. The third lacked the money and went to the bastille for 10 days. He begged permission to leave town and the judge is considering that.
