Posted: Wednesday, October 09, 2002

NEW YORK (AP) -- David Letterman had a little problem at the home office in Manhattan: A thief made off with $4,000 from a desk inside the Ed Sullivan Theater, police said.

On Monday, an employee at Letterman's "Late Show" found a desk drawer forced open and $4,000 cash missing, police spokesman Sgt. Kevin Hayes said Tuesday.

A surveillance camera reportedly caught the burglar slipping into the office on Sunday afternoon, but police had made no arrests.

Teri Gar has MS

NEW YORK (AP) -- After nearly 20 years of dealing with the illness, Teri Garr has revealed that she has multiple sclerosis.

Garr, who received an Oscar nomination for supporting actress for the 1982 movie "Tootsie," told CNN's Larry King on Tuesday night that she kept the disease secret for years because she "didn't feel it was necessary to tell anybody."

Garr said she didn't know she had the disease for several years because MS is difficult to diagnose. She said she is speaking out to help other people deal with the disease.

Kelly Willis expecting twins

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Country singer Kelly Willis is pregnant with twins, a spokeswoman said.

Willis, 34, and her 36-year-old husband, Bruce Robison, already have a 20-month-old son, Deral Robison.

"Bruce and I are thrilled that we're about to be outnumbered by children," Willis said. "We couldn't be happier."

The twins are due in April, Rykodisc Records spokeswoman Michelle Jaeger said Tuesday. The label released Willis' album "Easy" in August.
