EMILY -- Emily Charter School has a program called CARE, Creating A Respectful Environment.
Each month the school has projects or activities that foster togetherness in the school and community. Every child in school has a classroom group he or she belongs to for CARE that combines children from kindergarten through sixth grade with a classroom teacher.
Each group meets twice a month. October activities relate to baseball. Last Wednesday, the first CARE activity was to watch the Walt Disney movie, "Angels in the Outfield" and have a popcorn party because October is National Popcorn Popping Month.
