Call it contemporary folk art. Call it decoration. Or just call it a comfy rug.
Since 1972, McAdoo rugs, those artsy, handcrafted hooked rugs made in Bennington, Vt., have been gently cushioning the homes of folks across the country, including even those of Bill Clinton, Paul Newman and Meryl Streep.
The heirloom-quality rugs, made in the McAdoos' 19th-century mill, are available in various sizes, shapes and colors, and in 300 standard designs, including animals, florals, boats and geometric patterns.
Rugs sell for $100 per square foot. Custom rugs are available as well.
