Steffens leads Gobblers to victory over Onamia

AITKIN -- Kelly Steffens registered 8 kills and 6 blocks as the Aitkin Gobblers dispatched Onamia 25-22, 10-25, 25-22, 25-16 in Great River Conference volleyball Tuesday.

Erin Carlson led the Gobblers with 19 digs while Talia Otto had 8 set assists, 11 digs and two blocks.

ST. CLOUD -- With 16 kills from Laura Harms and 35 set assists from Missy Otremba, the Little Falls Flyers knocked off the St. Cloud Tech Tigers 3-1 Tuesday in Central Lakes Conference volleyball.

Melissa Welle added 11 kills and 3 blocks for the Flyers.

MENAHGA -- The Verndale Pirates were confident after beating Sebeka Saturday for the first time since 1999, but additional confidence didn't translate into a win Tuesday as they fell to Menahga 3-1 in Park Region Conference volleyball.

"If we could have won the second game, we would have won the match," said Verndale coach Kelly Youngbauer. "We were up 24-21, with Menahga getting errors from everyone on their side of the court. We should have won that one."

Sami Seaton continued her stellar defense, collecting 10 blocks and 6 digs to go with 6 kills and four ace serves.
