MENAHGA -- The Verndale Pirates were confident after beating Sebeka Saturday for the first time since 1999, but additional confidence didn't translate into a win Tuesday as they fell to Menahga 3-1 in Park Region Conference volleyball.
"If we could have won the second game, we would have won the match," said Verndale coach Kelly Youngbauer. "We were up 24-21, with Menahga getting errors from everyone on their side of the court. We should have won that one."
Sami Seaton continued her stellar defense, collecting 10 blocks and 6 digs to go with 6 kills and four ace serves.
