Raiders sweep Northland

THIEF RIVER FALLS - You never know. A four-hour bus trip from Brainerd to Thief River Falls could spell trouble for the Central Lakes College Raiders.

At least that was coach Jane Peterson's fear Wednesday.

So she was pleasantly surprised and pleased when CLC rolled to a three-game victory over the Pioneers.

The Raiders, who beat Northland 3-2 in Brainerd last month, posted wins of 25-12, 25-14 and 25-6.

We were just very mentally prepared, said Peterson. We blocked great and we served great.

And then it was time to return home, taking the same bus for the same 4-hour trip. Right, Coach?

Yes, but it's more pleasant when you win, said Peterson.
