Smith helps Warriors to victory

ST. CLOUD - Siri Smith won the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke in addition to being a member of the winning 200 medley and 400 freestyle relay teams as the Brainerd Warriors swimming and diving team took down St. Cloud Apollo 108-78 Tuesday.

Sarah Dens won the 50 freestyle for the Warriors with a time of 26.33 and was a member of the 200 medley relay.

Alex Erickson also picked up a victory in the 100 butterfly, clocking a time of 1:07.42, and was a member of the winning 400 freestyle relay.

Grace Bymark was also a member of the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays and finished second in the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly while Katy Etterman won the diving with 192.50 points.

Brainerd improves to 5-1 in Central Lakes Conference meets and 6-1 overall.

"We really didn't swim that well," Warriors coach Dan Anderson said. "But we swam well enough to win and that was good enough tonight. We did have a few good swims but in the end a win is a win and you take them anyway you get them."
