The October meeting will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Curt and Kathy Buhlman shop in Aitkin. They are located at the first driveway past Aitkin Hardwoods. They will give a tour of the new shop and demonstrate a new shop set-up, make Christmas ornaments on a lathe, give a laminating demo and show tool-sharpening methods. Golden "K" Kiwanis club
The Brainerd-Baxter Area Golden "K" Kiwanis club will feature a presentation by David Pundt on the Brainerd-Baxter merger study at their meeting October 18. On October 25, the Heartland Animal Rescue Team will present an informational meeting concerning their activities. Meetings are held each Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Brainerd American Legion Hall. All retirees are invited to attend for fellowship, refreshments and interesting programs. Kiwanis is an organization dedicated to serving the children and youth, locally and worldwide.
First Lutheran WELCA of Pillager is having their bazaar from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday. Coffee and rolls will be available in the morning. Chicken salad croissant sandwiches will be available at noon.
The Brainerd Christian Women's Club is sponsoring a lunch and program from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Old Waterfall Inn. Cost: $7 inclusive. There will be a presentation from Marge Craven of the Stamp Cottage, singing by Barb Martin of Nisswa, and Wilda Nybeck tells her story, "The Joys of Being a Child." Alpha Chapter No. 23
Members of Alpha Chapter No. 23, Order of the Eastern Star, will be serving a luncheon from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at Masonic Hall. Turkey and gravy on a biscuit will be served with all the trimmings. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $3.75. This is open to the public.
