Muriel L. Howard
Muriel L. Howard, 78, passed away Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at St. Joseph's Medical Center, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Minneapolis on Dec. 22, 1931, to Vernon and Esther (Quick) Lundeen. On June 6, 1953, she married Leonard "Ole" Howard in Kimberly Township, Aitkin County, Minn. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
Muriel was a bookkeeper at the First National Bank in Brainerd for many years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of Eastern Star, was an avid bridge player, volunteered at various nursing homes and church functions and was a longtime member of Nazareth Circle at Trinity.

She is survived by her son, Terry, of Park Rapids, Minn.; her daughter, Cathy Jordan, of Acworth, Ga.; brothers, Vernon Lundeen, of Minneapolis, and Duane Lundeen, of Garrison, Minn.; sisters, Verna Davies, of Coleraine, Minn., Sally Hanson, of Aitkin, Minn., Donna Hanson, of Brainerd, Minn., and Barbara Jenkowski, of Bemidji, Minn.; three grandchildren, Troy Jordan, Nick Jordan and Skyler Howard; two great-grandchildren, Steven Jordan and Tristan Jordan.
Muriel was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard "Ole" Howard; her parents; and two brothers, John Lundeen and Vincent Lundeen.
Services for Muriel will be held on Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brainerd with visitation for friends and family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Minnesota State Veteran's Cemetery at Camp Ripley, Minn.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church.
