Warrior bowlers split

Brainerd defeated Sartell 5-0 and lost to Sauk Rapids 3-2 Saturday at Great River Bowl in Sartell.

Will Bassett, Derek Maier and Zach Hewitt led Brainerd against Sartell with 92.9-, 90- and 80-percent fills. Maier had nine of 10 possible strikes.

In the position round against Sauk Rapids. Hewitt, Samantha Holmes, Robert Stange and Bassett led Brainerd with 87.5-, 87.5-, 87.5- and 78.6-percent fills. Bassett had 9 of l4 possible strikes, 18 of 28 possible strikes for the day.

Brainerd maintains a 1-game lead in the conference.

The Warriors travel to Cold Spring Saturday to face St. Cloud Apollo and Sauk Rapids.

Olejnicak, St. Scholastica blank Minnesota-Morris

MORRIS - Brainerd High School graduate Erin Olejnicak recorded the shutout in goal as the St. Scholastica women's soccer team scored a 1-0 win over the University of Minnesota-Morris Saturday.

Olejnicak, a sophomore, stopped five shots in the match and improved her record to 3-1-1. The Saints improved to 7-3-1 overall, 5-0-1 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference.

Pequot woman places in Milwaukee marathon

Sheri Davich of Pequot Lakes completed the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon Sunday with a time of 4:01:44.

Davich, 48, placed 842nd overall out of 1,884 runners; 32nd out of 78 runners in her age division; and 241st out of 763 females.
