CROSBY -- Zona Gale Hofmann, age 85, of Crosby, died on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at the Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby. She was born on Dec. 9, 1917, in Ironton to Curtis A. and Martha C. (Korstad) Johnson. She married Melvin N. Hofmann on Feb. 14, 1946, in Crosby. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Crosby. She was also a member of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, Auxiliary. She is survived by a son, Jay (Terri) Hofmann of Ironton; two daughters, Linda (Robert) Schaefer of Prior Lake and Carla (Paul) Tauzell of Forest Lake; a brother, Wayne Johnson of Hibbing; a sister, Marguerite Salonen of Watauga, Texas; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Adam Hofmann and Tom and Brian Tauzell.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Mel, her parents, and a brother, Curtis Johnson.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby with Father Howard Eisel officiating. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby with a rosary at 7 p.m.
